1. Have your identification ready

Bring a current government-issued ID with your photograph and signature, such as a driver's license, state ID, or passport. Have the original ID available at the appointment.

If your ID is expired, missing, or shows a different name from your document, contact us before scheduling. We can review your situation and confirm the identification arrangements needed for the appointment.

2. Bring the complete document

Have every page available, including attachments and any notarial certificate supplied with the document. For a mobile visit, confirm in advance whether you will have a printed copy or need printing assistance.

Check with the organization that prepared or will receive your document about any unfinished fields. If you are unsure how to complete it, ask that organization or your legal adviser before the appointment.

Should I sign ahead of time?

Wait until we confirm the required notarial act. Some acts require you to sign in front of the notary. An acknowledgment may allow a previously signed document, but you must still appear and acknowledge your signature.

3. Arrange for signers and witnesses

Tell us how many people need their signatures notarized so we can plan the visit. Each person whose signature is being notarized must appear before the notary and have their identity verified.

If your document calls for witnesses, check the witness requirements with the receiving organization before scheduling. Let us know whether you already have witnesses or need help arranging them. Witness requirements depend on the document.

4. Bring the instructions and share your deadline

If a lender, title company, attorney, government agency, or other recipient gave you signing instructions, have those instructions available. Tell us where the completed document will go and whether it has a delivery deadline.

For an urgent request, include the deadline in your appointment notes or call (815) 409-9016. Availability and any special handling can be confirmed before you book.

5. Confirm the location and fee

For a mobile visit, share the address, parking information, and any access instructions. For a hospital or care facility, include the facility name and let us know about visitor restrictions before the appointment.

Have a well-lit place ready where the documents can be reviewed and signed. Confirm the quoted fee and payment arrangements in advance so you know what to expect when we meet.

Planning an online appointment?

Tell us where you will physically be during the session and what document needs notarizing. We will confirm availability, eligibility, and the platform's preparation steps before scheduling. Have your ID ready and check your camera, microphone, and internet connection.
